Time Tracking
Time tracking is important for companies
to track what employees are spending their time on. Time tracking is
also
a necessity for companies that bill for time spent on the work they do
Time tracking can be categorized into two different types: accurate and
estimated. Both types of tracking time have their advantages and
disadvantages.
Accurate time tracking is the sort of time logged by the old punch card
machines. When an employee punches in or
out the exact time and date is recorded. The advantage of accurate time
logs is that they are exact, even down to the second. Such precision
can often result in more time getting billed for. One problem with
accurate time tracking is that employees can forget to punch in or out.
Estimated
time tracking involves an employee giving their best guess as to
how much time they spent doing a certain activity or project for a customer.
Entering
timesheets is an example of estimated time tracking. The advantage of
estimated time tracking is that employees don't spend as much time
with the actual time entry process. The disdavantage is that you will
not have accurate records which results in over or under billing.
CyberMatrix has solutions for each of
these types
of time tracking applications. In
Out Scheduler keeps track of which
people are in the office and when those who are out will return.
